Cllr Peter Hemmerman – Town Mayor – I am pleased to have been elected as Town Mayor for the Civic Year 2019/2020. The May election resulted in four new Councillor’s joining us which has brought a new dynamic to the Council and I look forward to working with what promises to be a skilled and committed team. We now have a good balance of age and skills with an equal male / female membership which can only be a good thing in this day and age. I am grateful to my predecessor Cllr Derek Cary for the work he carried out during his time in office, and I hope he will continue to work as hard as he has been doing for the benefit of residents and the Council. I would also like to thank Cllr Jayne Smith for agreeing to be Deputy Mayor and I know I can count on her support through the year.

Cllr Jayne Smith – Deputy Mayor – I am very honoured to have been voted in as Deputy Mayor of Market Weighton Town Council again, and will endeavor to do my utmost to carry out the duties to the best of my ability.
